Goodhue wrestles well at W-K JV Invite

Wabasha-Kellogg Junior Varsity Wrestling Tournament    

Goodhue JV Wrestling Results:

The Goodhue JV wrestlers claimed seven championships at the Wabasha-Kellogg JV wrestling tournament this past Saturday, December 6th. Bracket winners were Chase Hinsch, Philip Husband, Carter Danielson, Kodee O’Reilly, Kaleb Stern, Travis Gadient and Bjorn Otterness. Earning 2nd place were Matthew Goplen, Sven Otterness, Casey Ryan, Bradyn Hinsch, and Kyle Schoenfelder. Taking 4th place were Connor Jacobson, Joel Breuer, and Nicholas Hinsch.

Up next for the Wildcats is a dual with Kasson-Mantorville on Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, and the Goodhue Junior Varsity Tournament on Saturday, December 13, 2014.

2014 Ellsworth Jr. High Tourney Info

This Friday (January 24th), the Varsity and B Squad will practice at 6:30 a.m.

In the afternoon, the Jr. High will travel to Ellsworth’s annual middle school tournament.

The bus will leave at 3:00 from Goodhue. Wrestling is to begin at approximately 4:30 p.m. with 5-man round robin brackets.

JV Results from Chatfield, Hastings Invites

The Goodhue Wrestling program had both JV and Jr. High levels travel to different tournaments this past Saturday. Kelby O’Reilly and Ryan Schoenfelder earned championships at the Hastings Junior High Wrestling tournament.  13 Schools were in the event.  Goodhue placed 5th as a team.

Goodhue had 3 champions at the Chatfield JV Tournament:  Mitchell Breuer, John Altendorf, and Edward Otterness. Jordan Ronningen and Zach Scott placed 2nd and Gavin Luhman placed 3rd.

The Goodhue Team also won the Most Outstanding Team Trophy Award at Chatfield!

Goodhue Jr. High Tourney 2013

We have over 150+ kids coming to wrestle tomorrow at our Goodhue Jr. High Tourney. We will setup after tonight’s basketball game, after we arrive back from our triangular in Stewartville.

Like last year, we will be wrestling in two gyms on 4 mats to hopefully have a quick and efficient tournament. We also hope to fill 8-man brackets using a new software bracketing system that will speed up the post weigh-in bracketing and get the tournament started on time.

Please have your wrestler(s) here before 7:30 so they can hop on the scale at that time quickly, as to allow other schools to weigh-in as they arrive as well in their “weigh-in window” that was pre-assigned.

Weigh-ins: 7:30 a.m.

Tourney Start: 9:30 a.m.

Format: 8 man brackets

Expected Finish time: 1-3:00 p.m.
