Match Day! Parent+Senior Night vs. Pine Island
WEM Tri times moved ahead 1 hour
All times for the wrestling triangular in Janesville have been moved up one hour due to impending weather concerns.
That means dismissal is now at 1:00, departure at 1:15, weigh-ins at 3:00, and we wrestle at 4:00 vs. WEM/JWP and 5:00 vs. St. Peter or as soon as possible after our first round match.

12/17/16 Goodhue Elementary Tourney 2 Hour Delay, Social Tonight!
The Goodhue Elementary Tournament on Saturday, December 17th, 2016 will be held today. However, to accommodate last night’s snowfall, all times have been pushed back 2 hours. So weigh-ins will be held from 10:30-11:30 and wrestling will start at 12:00 noon. The school address is 510 Third Avenue, Goodhue, MN 55027.
Due to numerous schools not allowing their teams to travel to Goodhue today, we were forced to cancel the Goodhue JV tournament this year. 7-12 Goodhue wrestlers will practice from 10:30-11:30 and then help referee and work tables for the elementary tournament starting at noon.
The wrestling social will be held tonight starting at 5:00 p.m. Food and drink cup can be purchased for $20 and there will be a 50/50 raffle for $10. This is a benefit for the Goodhue Wrestling Club. We hope to see there!
Match Day! #1 K-W comes to town tonight!
Returning Class A State Champions and #1 ranked Kenyon-Wanamingo come to Goodhue for a wrestling dual tonight. The youth scrimmage starts at 5:45, the JV start rolling at 6:00, and the varsity dual will begin at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Wrestling Season Is Here!
The 2017 wrestling season for Goodhue Wrestling is underway!
The high school program will kick off the season Friday after school, on short notice due to football ending early and the wonderful weather we’re having in early November. After cleaning up our adopted section of Highway 9, the team will head to the O’Reilly’s to grill food, have a bonfire, and play games. All wrestlers in grades 7-12 are invited! The high school program begins with practice on Monday, November 21st.
Next week, the elementary has their registration night on Wednesday, November 9th. See that post for more details. The youth open with their first practice on Sunday, November 20th.
The high school program’s Parent-Athlete-Coach meeting (PAC) will be the following night, Thursday, November 10th. At 6:30, all winter sports participants will meet in Gym #2 for general rules and information. Afterwards, each sport will break out into separate areas of the school to provide information for that sport only.
Apparel orders are due November 11th, and either one of the events on Wednesday or Thursday are great times to submit your orders!
New Apparel Available Thru 11/11/16
Goodhue Wrestling apparel is available through next Friday, November 11th. Submit to the school (attn: Coach Grant) or turn in at Elementary Registration Night (Wednesday 11/9) or the HS Winter PAC Meeting (Thursday, 11/10). New this year is Nike-branded clothing, and optional ‘wrestling’ or generic ‘Goodhue Wildcats’ screen-printed/embroidery. Elementary Wrestling Registration 2016-2017
The Goodhue Elementary Wrestling season will be underway soon! To get things started, registration night is coming up on November 9th at the school. Stop in the wrestling room (Gym #1) from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. to register your athlete(s) for wrestling. You will need to bring your Elementary Registration Form, checks for registration and singlet deposit, and then you will receive a wrestling singlet for the season.
Registration forms can be emailed as well. New coach Joe Strauss has a new email to contact him with. Please add this to your list of contacts to avoid emails accidentally going to junk folders.
