Club Trip to State Tourney Info

The Land of Lakes Wrestling Club is again sponsoring a trip to the MN State Wrestling Tournament. All 6-12 grade wrestlers are welcome to attend. Like last year, the bus will leave after school and arrive at the Xcel Energy Center for Thursday’s final team wrestling session. Then the team will have pizza and swim at the hotel, and leave in the morning in time to catch Matthew Lexvold’s first round match shortly after 9:00 a.m. The team will return by the end of the school day on Friday.

*Parents – please remember to call the office to excuse your wrestlers from school on Friday, because this is not a school-sponsored trip.

Thank you so much to the club for sponsoring as well as the chaperones for taking the time to organize and supervise the trip!

Eleven Goodhue wrestlers will be competing for a State Tournament berth and All-Section Honors at the 2014 Section 1A Individual Tournament this weekend. Come on down to the Mayo Civic Center and cheer for Goodhue while the Section 1 family reunites once again to send the best it has up to Xcel Energy Center!

Goodhue’s HVL All-Conference Selections

This season saw 2 kids earn HVL All-Conference honors, and 4 others pick up Honorable Mention recognition. With 10-1 and 9-2 marks in the conference, freshman Bailee O’Reilly and senior Matthew Lexvold were named to the HVL All-Conference team. Receiving Honorable Mention were Charles Dahling, Josh Dahling, Joel Gadient, and Mariano Bigalk. Congratulations guys!

Weekly News: Byron, Home Tri, LC JV Invite

The final week of the regular season is upon us. Where did the season go?! Like a good scramble, this week ends with a flurry of activity. The team travels to Byron on Thursday, and then turns around to host Triton and Pine Island (a re-scheduled event) on Friday to conclude the HVL Conference schedule. Saturday brings the final event for the JV and Jr. High squads, the annual HVL JV Invite held each year in Lake City. Good luck in this last regular season stretch fellas!
