The Goodhue Wrestling team will be taking its wrestlers to the MN State Tournament. We will again be taking 6-12 graders that have given a great effort along with positive behavior to the team this year. This is courtesy of the Land of Lakes Wrestling Club, which will be providing bus transportation and the hotel.

We will be staying at the same hotel as last year – a Country Inn in northern St. Paul. The timeline will also be identical. We will load the participating 6-12 graders on a bus at 3:30 on Thursday, February 28th. Wrestlers will get dropped off at the Xcel Energy Center to view the State Team Championship Round. After that, they will be bused to the hotel for food, fun, and swimming. In the morning, they will return to the Xcel to watch a session of individual state wrestling matches. They will depart on time to return to Goodhue by the 3:20 regular school bus departures.

If your child participates, please be aware that this is not a school-sponsored activity. As such, you will need to call in your child’s absence for it to be excused for that Friday. Both Mr. Opsahl and Mr. Harvey are aware of this trip and will mark it as an excused absence.

Students will be responsible for the session ticket prices, bringing swimwear, and for a lunch meal on Friday. The club will pay for a pizza supper on Thursday night at the hotel (and the hotel has a complimentary continental breakfast). Each session is $9.00, so they’ll need $18.00 for the two sessions they’ll be attending, plus some lunch money for Friday.
