We’ve got two tournaments happening tomorrow. Here’s some basic info for you.
Varsity @ Winona Invite:
Where: Winona HS
Bus Departure: 6:50
Weigh-ins: 8:00; 1# allowance (106=107)
Tourney Starts: 10:00 a.m.
This tournament will be on Track Wrestling so you can visit the site to follow the brackets as they get updated.
Where: W-K HS
Bus Departure: 7:30
Tourney Starts: 10:00 a.m.
The opening dual of the season is just a few hours away! If you can’t be there, you can listen to the dual on the radio station KDHL and/or follow the updated that will be posted on our Twitter feed. If you don’t have a Twitter account, you should be able to see the updates in the window feed on the right side of the web page.
Goodhue Wrestling opens the season up as we travel to Kenyon-Wanamingo to take on the Knights this Thursday night! Join us at the high school in Kenyon and support the 2012-2013 team!

This is a friendly reminder that if you wanted to order a fundraiser t-shirt and haven’t signed up with a wrestler or turned in an order yourself, they are due Monday, November 26th (today!). And remember, you don’t need to pay for them yet (unless you want to) as you can simply pay for your shirt(s) when they are delivered to you. If we can get them all by the end of the day, we hope to place the order shortly thereafter and have them delivered before students are let out for the holiday break.

Mitchell Breuer celebrated his 18th birthday today. But the senior wrestler got an early present. Late last week The Guillotine released its first rankings of the 2012-2013 season.

The Chatfield JV Tournament will be on Saturday, January 19th, and not the previous Saturday as indicated on prior schedules posted online and handed out. I regret the error. Please make that schedule change in the copy you have. The Google Calendar has been updated with the change, and the “Goodhue Wrestling Event Schedule” PDF has been updated in the Document Library page, so you can print an updated one as well. I also updated that PDF with some tournament start times, as tourney fliers from other coaches are starting to come in now that the season is here!
The annual Goodhue Wrestling T-Shirt Fundraiser is now available. This year offers a solid purple shirt with a black and white color screen print and a wrestler logo beneath. These are $10 each, and the size range is Youth XS to 3XL. For any XXL or XXXL, please add $2 ($12 total for those shirt sizes).
All profits benefit the wrestling club. The due date is Monday, November 26th. Please submit to Coach Grant. Pay when it is delivered to you; checks can be made out to Land of Lakes Wrestling at that time.
And, of course, you can sign up for the shirts at the Elementary Registration event tonight (Wednesday) from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., or at the 7-12 Parent-Athlete-Coach Meeting Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.

This Wednesday – November 14th – will be the Goodhue Elementary Wrestling Program’s Registration Night. The school will be open and elementary leaders will be available from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Come in and get signed up, weighed in, and put a deposit down on a singlet. And if you have an apparel order, this is a great time to drop that off as the orders are due Friday!
The Goodhue Wrestlers in Grades in 7-12 are invited to the official pre-season meeting. It will be held in Coach Grant’s room at 3:30. Agenda items will include items in the handbook (motivation, rules, etc.), team goals, shoe needs, practice and event schedules, academics, and more.

The annual Parent-Athlete-Coach (PAC) meeting for the 7-12 grade program will be held Thursday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. We will meet in the Multi-Purpose Room adjacent to the Goodhue High School Library.
Yearly topics such as eligibility, schedules, and more will be discussed alongside new items such as new staff introductions and hosting a Jr. High Tournament in December. As always, there will be opportunities for questions. And don’t forget to bring your apparel forms, as apparel orders are due the 16th. See you there!
